In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
“Goodness and evil are not equal. Repel the evil with the good. Then will he between whom and you was hatred become as it were your friend and intimate – Qur'an, 41:34”

There is no god but God, He is One, He has no partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise; He alone grants life, and deals death, and He is living and dies not; all good is in His hand, He is powerful over all things, and with Him all things have their end. Proceed

Be certain of this, that the highest aim of creation and its most important result are belief in God. And the most exalted rank in humanity and its highest degree are the knowledge of God contained within belief in God. And the most radiant happiness and sweetest bounty for jinn and human beings are the love of God contained within the knowledge of God. And the purest joy for the human spirit and the sheerest delight for man's heart are the rapture of the spirit contained within the love of God. Indeed, all true happiness, pure joy, sweet bounty, and untroubled pleasure lie in knowledge of God and love of God; they cannot exist without them. Proceed

Belief is both light and strength. Yes, one who obtains true belief may challenge the whole universe and be saved from the pressure of events in accordance with the strength of his belief. Belief makes man into man, indeed, it makes man into a king. Since this is so, man's basic duty is belief and supplication. Unbelief makes man into an extremely impotent beast. Proceed

Look at this garden of universe, this orchard of the earth; look carefully at the beautiful face of the heavens gilded with stars. Look at the living creatures revolving in this wondrous universe, in these flowing beings. Look carefully at the multicoloured, multifarious beings swimming in the seas of the heavens and scattered over the face of the earth. Proceed

There is such miraculousness in the universe's compilation that if to suppose the impossible all natural causes possessed will and the power to act, they would still prostrate in utter impotence before such miraculousness, exclaiming: Glory be unto You! We have no power; indeed You are the Mighty, the Wise! Proceed

The compression of the exact programme of development of a beautiful flower into a minute seed, the inscription on a small seed by the pen of destiny of the scroll of deeds of a tree, its life-history and list of equipment, show that a pen of utmost wisdom is at work. Proceed

Thus, man is such an antique work of art of Almighty God. He is a most subtle and graceful miracle of His power whom He created and inscribed with His Names and their inscriptions, in the form of a miniature specimen of the universe. If the light of belief enters his being, all the meaningful inscriptions on him may be read. And one who believes, he reads them consciously, and through that relation, causes others to read them. Proceed

Man stands in need of most of the varieties of beings in the universe and is connected to them. His needs spread through every part of the world, and his desires extend to eternity. Just as he wants a flower, so he wants the spring. Just as he desires a garden, so does he also desire everlasting Paradise. Just as he longs to see a friend, so does he long to see the All-Beauteous One of Glory. Just as in order to visit one he loves who lives somewhere else, he is in need for his beloved's door to be opened to him, so too in order to visit the ninety-nine per cent of his friends who have travelled to the intermediate realm and so be saved from eternal separation, he needs to seek refuge at the court of an Absolutely Powerful One Who will close the door of this huge world and open the door of the hereafter, which is an exhibition of wonders, and remove this world and establish the hereafter in its place. Thus for man in this position the only True Object of Worship will be One in Whose hand are the reins of all things, with Whom are the treasuries of all things, Who sees all things, and is present everywhere, who is beyond space, exempt from impotence, free of fault, and far above all defect; an All-Powerful One of Glory, an All-Compassionate One of Beauty, an All-Wise One of Perfection. Proceed

Yes, I need is a Creator and Sustainer Who possesses the power to know the least thoughts of my heart and my most secret wishes; and like He will answer the most hidden needs of my spirit, will transform the mighty earth into the Hereafter in order to give me eternal happiness, and will remove this world and put the Hereafter in its place; and will create the heavens as He creates a fly; and as He fastens the sun as an eye in the face of the sky, can situate a particle in the pupil of my eye. For one who cannot create a fly cannot intervene in the thoughts of my heart and cannot hear the pleas of my spirit. One who cannot create the heavens, cannot give me eternal happiness. In which case, my Sustainer is He Who both purifies my heart's thoughts, and like He fills and empties the skies with clouds in an hour, will transform this world into the Hereafter, make Paradise, and open its doors to me, bidding me to enter. Proceed

Through His Names the Sapient and the All-Wise, the All-Powerful Maker has included thousands of well-ordered worlds within this world. Within those worlds, He created man as a center and pivot-one who, above all creatures, manifests and is a means to the wisdom and purposes in the universe. Proceed

Do not think of yourself as aimless or left to wander freely. For if you look upon this guesthouse of the world with the eye of wisdom, you will see that nothing is without order or purpose. Then how could you, of all things, be without order or purpose? Proceed

Indeed, the human being was created for eternity, and his true pleasures are found only in eternal matters such as the knowledge of God, love of God, and the pursuit of knowledge. Proceed

Those who seek eternal and lasting happiness in this world and the hereafter must take as their guide the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), within the framework of faith. Proceed

I created not jinn and mankind except that they might worship Me. (Qur'an 51:56)
In light of the meaning of this mighty verse, the ultimate purpose and wisdom behind humanity’s being sent to this world is to recognize the Creator of all beings, to have faith in Him, and to worship Him. Proceed

In the present age, the foremost benevolence and obligation is the preservation of personal faith and the endeavor to support and strengthen the faith of others. Proceed

“In the future, when reason, science and technology prevail, that will surely be the time that the Qur'an will gain ascendancy, which relies on rational proofs and invites the reason to confirm its pronouncements.” – Bediuzzaman Said Nursi

“The Risale-i Nur presents the essential tenets of faith—‘I believe in God, and His angels, and His Books, and His Prophets, and in the Last Day’—in a clear, compelling, and rational manner, offering thoughtful responses even to the most persistent questions posed by atheists and philosophers.”

These are the words of Bediuzzaman Said Nursi, the author of a profound Qur’anic commentary that addresses the modern age with clarity, reason, and deep spiritual insight.

In the words of Professor Colin Turner of Durham University:

“It is my conviction that the Risale-i Nur is the only Islamic work that truly presents the universe as it is, interprets the Qur’an in the spirit intended by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and offers real remedies for the spiritual diseases that afflict modern humanity.”

Taken together, these reflections reveal the Risale-i Nur as not only a compelling exposition of Islamic faith, but also a timeless guide for modern seekers.
