The earth receives the human being
Open your eyes—behold the world;
Look to the heavens, to the vast expanse.
Gaze upon the sun that rises unfailingly,
And the clouds ascending in grace.
Witness this beauty while it still lies unveiled;
Behold the trials and hardships of separation.
Do not be impatient—
Look upon the struggle between dream and reality.
These clouds, this air—they are yours,
All lie within your trust and command.
This sky, this silent and boundless space, is yours.
These mountains, these deserts, these seas,
These winds—all are yours.
Once, the state of angels was your ideal;
Now, in the mirror of time, behold your own self.
This world will come to understand
The meaning of your vision;
And the stars in the heavens
Will gaze upon you from afar.
The shores of your ocean of thought are limitless;
The fire of your sighs rises to the heavens.
Refine your inner self—
Then witness the power of your breath.
Within your spark lies the radiance of the sun;
Through your gifts, a new and living world is born.
The paradise promised to you does not satisfy your sight—
For your true paradise
Lies hidden within you.
O being shaped from dust,
Behold the fruit of your striving.
The strings of your lute have echoed since eternity;
From the beginning, you have been the seeker of love.
From the beginning, you have been
A devotee of this mysterious sanctuary.
You are ancient in struggle—
Unbowed, yet full of grace.
Behold!
Your will
Shapes the course of the world.
